Dr. Kayla Steltenkamp is a wife, parent and teacher. She has an elementary education degree, special education degree, and recently completed her PhD in Education and Social Change. Teaching is her passion. She has taught in the public schools for 10 years and is now a professor at NKU inspiring the future teachers to embrace and challenge students with exceptionalities. After teaching for several years, Kayla learned about dyslexia and knew the importance of helping other teachers understand this unique reading difference. Currently, she serves on the Kentucky Department of Education’s Dyslexia Task Force and is part of the US Department of Education’s Teach to Lead project KYReads. She has spent the past few years researching dyslexia and teacher training methods and loves sharing her knowledge with others.
